A free trail-building session led by experienced local trail builders. As the local Mountain Bike Trail Association we want to help develop the next generation of Trail-builders so they can maintain and enhance their trail network in a sustainable way.

About the event
This Trail Academy session will run with two groups — one group will be a female-led space, with the aim of creating a space for keen trail building girls to meet and dig together. We welcome other female volunteers who are interested in joining in to support the session.
This free session is a chance for young riders to learn what goes into making a fun, sustainable trail with advice from experienced local trail builders. It will include tips on efficient and safe tool use, trail inspection, trail construction methods, and line choices for flow and drainage. The focus will be very much 'hands-on', with the opportunity to improve or construct a section of trail or a trail feature and then ride and tweak it. the session will take place in High Burnside, meeting at the forest gate (
